We recognize the disappointment of weather-dependent plans getting spoiled. With Bluveyl, you gain peace of mind knowing that, in case of bad weather, you will get some extra cash to compensate your experience and enjoy indoor activities or reschedule your plans.

How do you verify the weather conditions for my experience?

We have partnered with the global leader in weather intelligence and track the weather with satellites, weather stations and radars.
Everyday at 8pm, our technology verifies if the weather conditions we promised were met and automatically triggers the payout we agreed upon if not. The data is also available to you and you can check it yourself.

What qualifies as bad weather?

At Bluveyl, we define bad weather as any weather conditions that make your experience dangerous or unpleasant.

For all experiences and outdoor events, we offer rain protection tailored to the location and season. The specific threshold will be clear at checkout. No surprises, ever.

For skiing, we worked with climate scientists to offer you a bespoke protection against any condition that makes it unpleasant. This means when it is too foggy or cloudy and you cannot see more than a few meters in front of you, or when there is a strong wind or heavy precipitation, or when it is too warm and there isn’t enough snow at the resort or the snow is slushy.

How much compensation can I expect if bad weather ruins my trip?

Let’s say you booked a one week vacation in Zermatt and you chose a coverage amount of 100.- per bad-weather day.
A typical contract will cover you if you get more than two bad-weather days during your trip. For example, if you get four bad-weather days in total, you will receive 400.- in your bank account. You can choose the protection amount you want when you book your trip.

How do I make a claim?

You have nothing to do. Our whole process is automated and you are notified on the same day if your trip was affected by bad weather. No questions asked.

When can I expect my refund?

Your refund is triggered immediately after you enter your bank account details. It should then show up in your bank account within 48 hours.

Can I dispute a claim decision?

Absolutely. Although our process has proven to be reliable. We are humans and we want you to talk to us if you have any concerns. If you experienced bad weather and we did not detect it, please reach out to us by e-mail or on WhatsApp and we promise to find a solution in less than 24 hours.

Do I need to cancel my trip to receive the compensation?

No, you can sill enjoy your time off. The extra cash is to compensate for your moral damage as you did not get the value you expected from your experience and enjoy indoor activities or reschedule.

What types of travel and experiences are eligible for your weather guarantee? Does it include outdoor events?

We provide refunds for all weather-sensitive activities, from city breaks, skiing, and golf to beach vacations and camping. While skiing has a custom guarantee, we offer rain protection for other activities. Soon, we will introduce custom protection for diving, sailing, and surfing.
